DC Office of the Tenant Advocate Tenant Bill of Rights

The Tenant Bill of Rights Amendment Act of 2014 requires the D.C. Office of Tenant Advocate to publish a “D.C. Tenant Bill of Rights” to be updated periodically and noticed in the D.C. Register. This document is not exhaustive and is intended to provide tenants with an overview of the basic rights of tenancy in the District. Except for rent control, all these rights apply to every tenant in the District.
